1. CHECK OUT VENUES EARLY.
Once you get engaged and have an idea what time of year you’d like to get married, start looking at venues right away. Many get booked up a year or two in advance, so don’t hesitate starting to set up those tours right away to make sure you get the perfect one. (Whispering Pines of Carlisle is highly recommended!) This applies to churches as well.
2. DON’T WORRY ABOUT THE WEATHER.
If you are planning an outdoor wedding ceremony try not to dwell on the what if’s, you have no control over the weather so don’t stress about it. What you can do is make sure that you have a back up plan in order. That alone should a sure you of a bright beautiful sunny day.
3. DO YOUR PREP WORK.
The more you work you do ahead of time, the better the day will turn out. Make lists and check them off! Fundamentals come first such as your color scheme, songs that you’ll want on your playlist for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception to your seating chart. Even though you might not find all of this on the top of your list of to dos, don’t put them off. Every month choose one item off your list, delegate it to a specific weekend, stick to it and get it checked off!
4. GET CRAFTY!
If you’re sticking to a budget this should help a lot. With all your pinterest ideas, there are so many things that you can do in advance at a much cheaper price rather than to pay to have it all done. Talk to your bridesmaids, get them together and have a wine & craft night. Many hands will get the job done much faster and lets face it, you know that you’re going to have a ton of fun!
5. LEARN TO DELEGATE
When it comes to your wedding rehearsal and wedding day you need to be calm, cool, and collected. Don’t sweat the small stuff and learn how to delegate (in a nice way of course). PLAN, PLAN, PLAN ahead of time who is going to do what and it will fall right into place. If you’re booking with us at Whispering Pines of Carlisle, we are here to help and guide you to a smooth and successful day. As the bride all you need to be doing is relaxing and enjoying yourself.
