Spring into a New Season

Sprinklings

Spring has sprung (or should be soon) and for all of those brides-to-be for this up coming year it’s time to move forward. Check your list and check it twice. For those of you getting married this year, your planning should be coming to an end and now’s when all your little details come into play. If you have not chosen you venue yet, you should get to it! They book up fast!

For those of you looking to be married in 2018, now is the time to book your venue (come check out The Pines!). The most popular months seem to be May, June, September and October in Central PA. If you’re set on a specific date, book it now.

Book your venue, determine a budget and make sure you do your research. Once the venue is picked, below are a few things that will need to be first on your list if your venue is not all inclusive.

† Photographer, especially in time for your engagement photos!
† Caterer
† Florist
† DJ

Little hint: Venues that don’t make you use their catering can usually be less expensive. If you have a strict budget it is better for you to go this route. Lots of times the venues can give you many good suggestions and give you an idea on different price ranges.

Spring is by far Whispering Pines’ favorite time of year. So many colors start to come to life around The Pines. Just think about how your colors will add some pop to your wedding and reception. Whether you want vibrant or subtle they make a huge difference in your decor. Think about your tables center pieces, walking down your wedding isle, the ceremony and how your sweetheart table is going to be set. Make sure the areas are photo ready so when looking back at your beautiful pictures,  you’re not disappointed.

Think Spring!! And may your new season start to blossom into the beautiful wedding you’ve been dreaming about!

Best of Luck! – Whispering Pines of Carlisle

Valentine’s Day ‘inspo’ from The Pines!

ten-ways-todecoratewith-plantsIt is that time of year.. love is in the air.  While the weather outside may seem dreary and cold, let’s focus on having a cheery, warm Valentine’s day in Central Pa. What could be more perfect for Valentine’s Day then getting engaged and beginning to plan a wedding?

With the greatest commandment being to love one another as we are told in 1 Corinthians 13, let us set out this Valentine’s Day to make it a priority to show love in our relationships with others.

From all of us at Whispering Pines of Carlisle, we wish to be among the first to send ‘Congratulations’ to all of you that get engaged over this Valentine’s Day season!!

Selecting a venue is one of the first steps in planning your wedding.  Remember to take into consideration three basics to keep in mind.  1) location of the venue, what type of setting are you looking for  2) capacity, will it accommodate the number of people that you’re considering and 3) availability, does it have openings the time of year that you are wanting to get married?  Give us a call at Whispering Pines of Carlisle, we’d love to give you a tour and help you to begin your planning process.

May God Bless you this Valentine’s Day!

5 Tips to your Stress Free Wedding Day!

1. CHECK OUT VENUES EARLY.

Once you get engaged and have an idea what time of year you’d like to get married, start looking at venues right away.  Many get booked up a year or two in advance, so don’t hesitate starting to set up those tours right away to make sure you get the perfect one. (Whispering Pines of Carlisle is highly recommended!) This applies to churches as well.

2. DON’T WORRY ABOUT THE WEATHER.

If you are planning an outdoor wedding ceremony try not to dwell on the what if’s, you have no control over the weather so don’t stress about it.  What you can do is make sure that you have a back up plan in order.  That alone should a sure you of a bright beautiful sunny day.

3. DO YOUR PREP WORK.

The more you work you do ahead of time, the better the day will turn out.  Make lists and check them off! Fundamentals come first such as your color scheme, songs that you’ll want on your playlist for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception to your seating chart. Even though you might not find all of this on the top of your list of to dos, don’t put them off.  Every month choose one item off your list, delegate it to a specific weekend, stick to it and get it checked off!

4. GET CRAFTY!

If you’re sticking to a budget this should help a lot.  With all your pinterest ideas, there are so many things that you can do in advance at a much cheaper price rather than to pay to have it all done.  Talk to your bridesmaids, get them together and have a wine & craft night.  Many hands will get the job done much faster and lets face it, you know that you’re going to have a ton of fun!

5. LEARN TO DELEGATE

When it comes to your wedding rehearsal and wedding day you need to be calm, cool, and collected.  Don’t sweat the small stuff and learn how to delegate (in a nice way of course).  PLAN, PLAN, PLAN ahead of time who is going to do what and it will fall right into place. If you’re booking with us at Whispering Pines of Carlisle, we are here to help and guide you to a smooth and successful day. As the bride all you need to be doing is relaxing and enjoying yourself.

Pictures below are from our summer weddings at ‘The Pines’. Our brides took great lengths to make their day very special. The pictures say it all from the matching bridesmaid robes, beautiful cakes, and perfect place settings!
